When only a book will do

As a group of copywriters, it is hardly surprising that we all harbour a secret ambition to write a book.

So when longstanding client Prysmian asked us to document its 100-year history there was no shortage of volunteers.

The world's largest manufacturer of power and telecommunications cable, Italian-owned Prysmian Group opened its first UK manufacturing plant 100 years ago and its commitment to manufacturing in this country remains strong to this day.

A century of successful manufacturing is an achievement for any organisation and Prysmian wanted a lasting memento to document and celebrate the achievements of the organisation and the people who work for it.

Two months of factory visits, interviews, research and some serious photography resulted in the 100-page book "Connecting the Century".

Copies were presented to all Prysmian staff in the UK during the centenary year with key custo mers also receiving the limited-edition publication. Prince Charles also now has a copy in his library following his recent visit to the Prysmian factory in Aberdare.
