When a press trip is the perfect answer

Lyon Stadium

Sometimes you just need to show people how something works. A recent press trip for new Ridgemount client Serge Ferrari proves just how effective that traditional technique can be.

Serge Ferrari manufactures a flexible composite material. This unique material has been used for the roof and seating of the new Olympique Lyonnais stadium in Lyon, France: the perfect setting to demonstrate its properties.

Our brief was to organise a press trip to Lyon for a guided tour of the stadium by Serge Ferrari, Populous Architects and the CEO of the stadium for top tier UK trade press and to gain exposure for the Lyon based company. The mix was perfect for our journalist's: an amazing new building, designed by a top-name architect and using innovative building techniques.

With just one week to organise a press trip, we managed to pull on our great contacts within the industry and secure four top-tier trade journals to attend.

Construction News, Building, ABC&D and Design Exchange attended the trip which was the right mix of informative and fun. The stadium was not open to the public, therefore we were able to provide press with an exclusive tour: always a good way to make an impact on our guests.

Ike Ijeh, Building magazine,

"Thanks very much for being such a great host on the day by the way, the trip was enjoyable, informative and I'm glad I went!"

The first feature articles on the project appeared in Construction News here (even making it to the front cover of the print version) and Building. Look out for further features in Design Exchange and RIBA Journal.

Based on quoted audience figures from each of these media outlets our estimated audience reach is well over 60,000.

We look forward to building Serge Ferrari's profile through dedicated promotion of their exciting projects across the world.
